Continued international growth

T-Systems signs IT outsourcing contract with Centrica plc

London, February 27, 2007

T-Systems has signed a ten-year IT outsourcing contract with Centrica plc. T-Systems assumes responsibility for part of Centrica’s IT infrastructure, including data center operations and desktop support services for more than 23,000 users. As part of this deal, T-Systems has acquired two data centers and over 230 positions have been transferred to T-Systems from Centrica plc.
This new contract in the UK, Europe’s largest ICT market, marks a major milestone in the ICT provider’s international growth strategy. The data centers that T-Systems has acquired provide a strong basis for the company’s future growth in the coveted British IT market.
Sean Dewhurst, IS Operations Director for Centrica plc says: “Centrica’s new partnership with T-Systems will build on the considerable investment we have made in our infrastructure over the last three years. We share the same vision and commitment to providing the highest standard of delivery across our data center and desktop support services.”
“This is the largest contract that T-Systems has ever signed with a new customer. The fact that we were successful in the most competitive European IT market against global ICT providers confirms that we are on the right track with our international growth strategy,” stated Lothar Pauly, Deutsche Telekom’s Board Member for Business Customers (T-Systems) and Production. T-Systems’ goal is to double its international revenue share to 30 percent and assume a leadership position in major western European markets by 2010.
