Man, Software and Machine Work Hand in Hand.

T-Systems’ production, information and control system (known by the German acronym FIS) is automating the supply chain in VW’s plants worldwide, thereby controlling production effectively.
“With the FIS, not even the most unusual requests from the customer can slow down the production flow.“
  • Holger Piskol, former FIS Product Manager, Volkswagen
The system makes it possible to find all required details for each individual vehicle. All data can be traced back to the archives of the Volkswagen Group – right down to the assembly sequence, component serial numbers and production times.
Executive insight
Most of the more than five million vehicles produced by the Volkswagen Group each year are planned and dispatched to the assembly lines by an FIS installation.
  • Substitute for standardized parts crates on the assembly line: the FIS gathers material into order-specific commodity groups, thereby increasing production flow.
  • The centralized data centers provide all relevant data to production worldwide and guarantee dependable supply chain management.
  • A three-stage service model offers reliable protection against system outages.
