Fast information around the clock

December 18, 2006

In the German state of Saarland, citizens, companies and authorities are now automatically able to access information from the registry office via the Internet.
Whether it be searching for old high school friends, checking customer lists or tracking defaulting payers – there are many situations in which citizens and companies can only find the information they need via the registry office. In the past, this information had to be requested in writing from the responsible registry office.
In Saarland, this process is now faster and easier – with one request over the Internet. The new service can now be accessed via Saarland's e-government portal at www.buergerdienste-saar.de.
Service for citizens and companies
The new solution was developed in a joint project of the federal state, the special purpose association eGo-Saar, T-Systems and PC-Ware. After entering their first and last name as well as two additional characteristics with which the sought-after person can be clearly identified, the searcher immediately receives so-called simple register information. This simple form contains information exclusively on first and last name, academic title and address.
State governments and communities will also have it easier in the future when it comes to processing administrative activities that require current registration data in a quick and efficient way. Security authorities in particular will benefit from the 24-hour information service.
