In an interview with Best Practice, Professor Henning Kagermann tells us why SAP relies on an extensive partner network, why T-Systems plays an important role in this network and about the benefits of ordering applications on demand.
By using T-Systems' Dynamic Services for SAP applications, customers gain a number of advantages: They benefit from the latest applications without having to invest in them themselves. The Telekom subsidiary operates the SAP applications at its own data centers and keeps them updated. Customers can order the applications as easy as taking electricity from a socket, and they are able to control how much they need based on their demands. At the end of the month, companies only pay for the resources they have actually requested, which allows them to control their expenses at all times. This way, they significantly reduce operating costs.
T-Systems as a pioneer
T-Systems offers the Dynamic Services Model for SAP in cooperation with the Walldorf-based software company. According to Kagermann, however, partnerships between companies only make sense if they create added value for the customer. This requires complementary competences. T-Systems, for example, has long-standing experience with Dynamic Services. "T-Systems was one of the first companies worldwide to promote this innovative concept," Kagermann says.
