Today, car manufacturers plan, manufacture and sell their products all over the world. In order to optimize the processes of these complex, global, value-added networks, T-Systems supports manufacturers and suppliers with AutoID/Right Time Enterprise Services (RES). This solution can be used by all companies participating in the supply chain.
At the core of the solution is a central data and information platform. Data from the commodity flows is registered automatically and transferred to the platform. In the second phase, the data is processed, provided with the corresponding business regulations and then sent to the customer in their chosen format via their ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) and CRM (Customer Relationship Management) systems. This process guarantees seamless data and information flows along the entire supply chain. AutoID/Right Time Enterprise Services enable comprehensive management of the supply chain based on the fact that customers can access the right data at the right place and the right time. This optimizes processes, reduces delivery times and lowers costs.
At CeBIT, visitors will be able to use a Personal Digital Assistant (PDA) to receive information about the data and commodity flows of car components via RFID (Radio Frequency Identification) technology. With this technology, the supply chain for an airbag or car seat can be tracked, from construction, manufacturing and transport to the assembly line and finished vehicle delivery.
