T-Systems is managing fixed telephony services for Belgium’s Vesuvius Group – and offering potential savings of at least 5 to 10 percent.
Major deal in Belgium: Vesuvius, the globe’s leading manufacturer of fireproof products for industrial high-tech applications, has chosen T-Systems to manage its entire fixed telephony serving some 12,000 employees. Based in Kraainem near Brussels and active in 41 countries, Vesuvius has relied on 25 partner companies around the globe in the past. Now, when it comes to fixed telephony, T-Systems will serve as a one-stop provider for connections, billing and assistance. In return, Vesuvius is set to save at least 5 to 10 percent at every corporate site.
Goal: Reduced costs and consolidation
Thanks to T-Systems, Vesuvius will be able to monitor telephone usage at each location for the first time, making it possible to use background data to identify areas for reducing costs. Costs are also set to fall thanks to T-Systems’ centralized procurement of supplies and services – since the ICT service provider will be representing Vesuvius worldwide and can thus negotiate optimal purchasing conditions. What’s more, T-Systems will be introducing new technology at the Vesuvius sites step by step, including Internet-based telephony and bundled transmission channels that make use of Unified Communications solutions – which will increase savings even further.
