    25,000,000,000,000 Computing Operations Per Second.

    December 20, 2005

T-Systems provides the German Aerospace Center (DLR) with access to Europe’s most powerful computer grid.
These high-performance computers together deliver computing power of up to 25 billion computing operations per second. The aerospace center utilizes the supercomputer on an as-needed basis and pays only for actual use. “For us this is the simplest and most economical way to obtain the necessary computing power,” says Professor Cord-Christian Rossow, Head of the Institute for Aerodynamics and Fluid Mechanics at the DLR in Brunswick.
Besides the DLR, T-System’s services are also used by the Gesellschaft für Anlagen- und Reaktorsicherheit or GRS (the Society for Plant and Reactor Safety), DaimlerChrysler Research and Technology, the European Aeronautic Defense and Space Company (EADS) and the German Meteorological Service. “In Germany we are now the clear market leader as a provider of ICT services for clients from the scientific, research and academic sectors,” stresses managing director Jürgen Aumayer.
