The State Chancellery and the municipalities in Saxony offer their citizens an administrative portal on the Internet. T-Systems connected all town districts, district administrative offices, and approximately half the district councils to this new network.

The address http://amt24.sachsen.de provides citizens and companies with online information – right down to the relevant official’s direct telephone extension. “We use every technical opportunity to offer our citizens the best possible service,” says Saxony’s Prime Minister Georg Milbradt.

The portal’s “Responsibility Finder” leads citizens simply and easily to the appropriate office and the required forms. “To keep the search for information as simple as possible, we chose a situational concept for the structure of the portal,” explains Heiko Winkler, the T-Systems project manager. Whether getting married, relocating or registering a new car – the portal offers help for eight such rites of passage. The new e-government platform can be easily integrated into the existing Internet sites of the local authorities. Citizens access the virtual city hall via the home page of their local municipality.
