Safe wireless use of voice and data

March 01, 2010

T-Systems presents new SiMKo 2 prototypes with voice encryption at CeBIT 2010. Other innovations: Encoded email transmission and new smartphone models.
A smartphone on the outside, a maximum security device on the inside: The federal government has decided to equip around 350 organizations with the highly secure smartphone SiMKo (Sichere Mobile Kommunikation = Secure Mobile Communication). Essentially, the devices will transmit emails and other data in encrypted format and with a certificate that proves the confidentiality, authenticity and integrity of the data.
T-Systems is now also integrating voice encryption. The ICTICT
Information and Communication Technology. These two terms began to be combined in the 1980s to emphasize the growing convergence between the two technologies.
service provider is debuting its prototypes for the new models at CeBIT; T-Systems plans to launch the actual product on the market this year. “We have successfully completed important voice encryption development steps but still have to run a number of tests,” says Stephan Maihoff, who is responsible for developing the security solution.

Highly secure mobile workstations

T-Systems has also further developed the SiMKo models as regards data security. “With our security concept, email recipients can only read the email after they have entered a PIN that decodes the messages," says Maihoff.
SiMKo can be used with various HTC models; visitors can view three new devices at CeBIT. From this selection government agencies and industrial enterprises can choose the device that optimally meets the needs of their employees.
