High-Tech Chips from a Manor House
The highly integrated analog chips from austriamicrosystems are in high demand.Especially from companies in the fields of mobile communications and industrial electronics.
Due to the sustained excellent demand, the high-tech company with its headquarters in Austria has just opened another production site in the Philippines. T-Systems makes sure that the IT at the chip supplier runs reliably 24/7, in spite of the expansion and high sensitivity of the system. This applies not only to the headquarters near Graz, but also to the 17 international sites in Europe, America, Asia and Africa. An outsourcing contract for ten years has placed the operation of the austriamicrosystems computer center in the Steiermark region, the central user help desk for about 1,000 employees and the support of about 1,200 end devices in the hands of the IT experts. The ICT service provider must also look after the local networks (LAN) and the wide area network (WAN) that connects the various sites together.
Exploiting synergies
austriamicrosystems is also benefiting from the high quality of service and the greater clarity in its complicated IT landscape: “Because our company is growing all the time, the requirements and the complexity of the IT and telecommunications field keep on increasing too,” said Reinhard Brantner, IT Manager at austriamicrosystems. “Outsourcing parts of our operative IT activities is allowing us to exploit synergies in that area and so to cut our IT costs in the long term.”
