Team building via charity work
July 22, 2009
In line with the Telekom motto "I am T, count on me," T-Systems employees redesign the garden at the Neunkirchen women's shelter in Austria.

T-Systems is scouting out new team building methods: Under the supervision of a "garden witch," twelve employees from the IT development and quality assurance departments redesigned the uninviting garden at the Neunkirchen women's shelter and turned it into a green oasis. Activity participants did not use pen and paper in this out-of-the-box team building measure but picked up saws, spades and an ax to redesign the garden space. They worked fervently to plant fruit trees, fruit brambles and flowers and to set up a teepee for the little shelter residents. Shelter manager Barbara Prettner is excited about the result: "Our budget simply does not allow for projects like these. We're all the more thankful to T-Systems for deciding to support this charity project."
Activities like these help build teams
This activity was made possible because T-Systems is increasingly investing in charity projects instead of team building in the classroom. Because everyone knows that when you create something that lasts, it boosts your motivation. And that has a positive effect on team collaboration.
