Green IT in Austria

June 25, 2008

Environmentally friendly is state-of-the-art: T-Systems Austria bets on an energy-efficient data center.
The T-Center data center in St. Marx features the highest technological standards when it comes to security and disaster prevention. T-Systems has also placed particular emphasis on the central topics of resource conservation and environmental protection. An optimized energy supply and cooling system, visualization technologies and energy-efficient hardware keep CO2 emissions low. The majority of the operated servers are "virtual servers" that run on shared hardware platforms. This makes it possible to realize optimal capacity utilization for the existing hardware.

Saving costs with energy efficiency

Companies can also benefit from Green IT: Outsourcing server operation is an important step toward effectively using storage systems to their full capacity. Numerous companies are already using the Dynamic Services Outsourcing Model by T-Systems. By using this service, these companies no longer need to operate their own ICTICT
Information and Communication Technology. These two terms began to be combined in the 1980s to emphasize the growing convergence between the two technologies.
infrastructure but can flexibly access computing power, memory capacity and services on demand. It is significantly more efficient to provide climate control and power supply to large systems than to several smaller systems located in different customer server rooms.
