Everyone loves Windows 7
February 22, 2010
According to analysts, Windows 7 is very popular in Germany. Now three recent T-Systems service packets will feature the new OS as standard software.

Desktop and laptop environments are expensive for businesses. This is due less to the procurement costs than it is to the high costs for support, maintenance and updates. And these costs are difficult to estimate as well. But things can change: Users can now pay a fixed monthly price for everything, choosing from three standard service packages. Windows 7 is included in Managed Workplace services. The role-based workstation systems, which are available in “Service,” “Office” and “Traveller” versions, include not only the OS, Office, a virus scanner, Explorer and utility programs but software packages and services for the respective work situation as well. Software and updates are integrated over the network.
Upgrade in Mannheim
Yet companies should not jump on the Windows 7 bandwagon blindly but should test the OS to see how it meets their needs. A T-Systems test center in Mannheim provides assistance with this. Every year some 3,500 compatibility tests are conducted here, including Windows 7 checks, which allow you to assess the upgrade risk. Customers are told the results of the testing for each application and are given recommendations for the steps they should take next.
Why is Windows 7 so interesting for companies? Read more about it in the new issue of Best Practice, available on 24 February.
