Voice services

April 22, 2010

Siemens Enterprise Communications (SEN) and T-Systems will work closely together to provide Internet voice services and unified communications.
The aim of the global cooperation is to offer large companies online telephone systems on demand as well as UCC solutions. The global market for integrated voice and data services, unified communications and collaboration (UCC) is expected to grow by more than 30% by 2013 according to the market researches at Datamonitor. Linking these communication channels makes it easier to contact employees and they benefit from additional collaboration possibilities.
With the new cooperation, SEN and T-Systems make it easier for customers to transition to this technology of the future. The currently complex data and network environments mostly consist of components by various specialized manufacturers. Individual providers do not offer all elements needed for UCC solutions from one source. This is where the new collaboration comes in. It is targeted at providing end-to-end service for all technologies.

New communication age

“In addition to software, data center services and storage capacity, we are now also offering more and more customers Voice as a Service via the Internet,” says Reinhard Clemens, member of the Board of Management of Deutsche Telekom and CEO of T-Systems. “In SEN we have found a reliable partner so that our customers can leave the age of proprietary telephone systems and get the highest level of service quality in telephony with Internet-based technologies.”
“While T-Systems provides the network and data centers, SEN supplies the layers needed for the seamless integration of voice and Unified Communications in the data network environment," says Hamid Akhavan, CEO of Siemens Enterprise Communications. “T-Systems is leveraging the integration of our Open Communications solutions to the benefit of the enterprise customers and can thus offer them greater functionality and maximum flexibility while helping them reduce costs.”
T-Systems customers are already using SEN's unified communications solutions. The company recently landed a major deal with energy giant BP.
