Overview
Unified communications: Seamless collaboration
Communication problems can interrupt seamless workflows. And geographically dispersed projects can be implemented more efficiently, when team members can cooperate virtually, as if they were actually sitting next to one another. Unified Communications (UC) integrates all communication channels – including voice, fax, email, video, and instant messaging – into a single interface. This can be leveraged via any device. Tools for web collaboration and document sharing are a key element of the solution, as are presence information and web conferencing at the click of a mouse.

All-IP networks: Voice, data and video on one platform
T-Systems' UC solution offers managed UC services on the basis of Cisco UC Manager, Microsoft Lync Server or Siemens OpenScape. Customers can decide whether the servers are operated from T-Systems data centers or at the customer's site. In addition to central applications, the complete package includes hardware and devices and their management, plus gateways to public networks. As a result, the UC solution can be integrated into complex existing IT infrastructures. It is based on an all-IP network that combines all voice and data streams.

UC: Cut the costs of communication and travel
Having heterogeneous hardware and software at sites spread around the world significantly increases support costs. Consolidating and centralizing these unwieldy systems saves money. According to a customer survey conducted by Microsoft, an integrated UC solution can reduce annual operating costs by 640,000 Euros per 1,000 employees. UC and web conferencing cut travel expenses by an average 650 euros per employee. Office infrastructure and software licenses offer additional potential for savings.
