What benefits do companies hope to gain from the cloud? IDC conducted a survey and presents the answers; T-Systems experts explain the right way into the cloud.
In the meantime, most people who deal with IT know what cloud computing means. But what exactly are companies looking for when they opt for the cloud? The analysts from IDC asked decision makers from companies in Europe, the U.S. and Brazil. Even if the results differ somewhat regionally, better data access, cost reduction and faster implementation of new products are the main drivers for considering cloud computing.
Webcast
In the webcast IDC analyst Mette Ahorlu will present the results of the study on the enterprise cloud together with cloud experts from T-Systems. Who decides, for example, whether IT is shifted to the cloud? It's no longer just the IT departments on their own. It's also a matter for the CEOs and CFOs, and, secondly, the specialist departments.
Security and service level
In addition to the study results the webcasts also show how companies find their way into the cloud and how they overcome their reservations. As the IDC study also confirms: Around 40 percent of the companies continue to ask about security and service level agreements (SLA). These questions are answered by the cloud experts from T-Systems, by them presenting the extensive ICT security measures for a private cloud and revealing that cloud providers do indeed guarantee high SLAs if, like T-Systems, they are able to offer all cloud services from a single source.
