The T-Systems Cloudifier gets company applications into the cloud – in a predictable, standardized, cost-efficient, simple and secure manner. The cloudification process is made up of three phases – Design, Transform and Operate – and begins with an analysis of the existing IT infrastructure. In order to get companies into the ideal starting position for transformation, the experts at T-Systems first carry out a potential analysis to determine the current status of applications and the benefits of cloudification for the company. The desired IT architecture is then defined as the target landscape and the customer is given recommendations.
T-shirt sizes for a fixed price
What makes the T-Systems Design service special is the fact that both the benchmarking of the system landscape and the definition of the target architecture are available in T-shirt sizes for a fixed price. The appropriate size depends on the quantity and complexity of applications.
Ensure that projects remain on budget and on schedule
According to the consultancy company Deloitte, more than half of all cloud transformation projects exceed the planned budget and almost a third of all cloud contracts are terminated owing to unsuccessful migration. A qualified, standardized analysis of IT infrastructure is needed to ensure that such failures are avoided from the start. At T-Systems, 4,000 IT system integration experts take care of migrating company applications to the cloud on schedule and within the planned budget.
Analysis of the current status
At the start of the Design phase, a precise analysis of the current situation is carried out to determine the current status of a company’s IT. Using benchmarking, a market comparison with key performance indicators (KPI) is carried out in order to shed light on the customer’s IT architecture, processes and portfolio. In the next step, a check is carried out to determine whether the company is ready for the cloud. The Cloud Readiness Assessment forms the starting point for defining a cloud strategy and, ultimately, the roadmap for implementation.
Cloud Maturity Check
The T-Systems Cloud Maturity Check (CMC) provides the basis for a sustainable cloud strategy which meets the needs of the company. Firstly, all relevant company divisions are defined and the necessary process and status information is collected in the form of interviews. The T-Systems cloud experts then analyze the data. The result is the current cloud maturity.
What can be migrated to the cloud?
After the potential analysis, the experts come up with detailed recommendations as to how the company can achieve its desired objectives. During an in-depth analysis, the T-Systems experts look into the customer’s applications, databases, IT infrastructures, servers and IT security concept and then determine the company's cloud readiness. On this basis, an application roadmap is produced: which applications can be provided from the cloud, which ones can continue operating in the classic manner on the company’s own server and which ones can be decommissioned? What can be transferred to the cloud via lift and shift and what needs to be modernized? And what cloud form is most suitable for the individual applications: public, private or hybrid? After the final business case which includes a binding calculation of the expected operating costs in years to come, the company knows where savings can be made and where added value exists compared to the current operating model.
Following the analysis of the IT infrastructure during the Design phase of the Cloudifier, the company has all the information in visualized form needed to make decisions regarding the next phases – Transformation and Operation.
