The operations service provider Fraport decided to hand over the management of the existing network to T-Systems within the scope of a total outsourcing agreement. The Telekom subsidiary also set up a state-of-the-art, secure, IP-based communications network for all airport departments and companies that work on the grounds.
Whether it's flight security, cargo logistics, airline front desks or security cameras: Frankfurt Airport depends on highly secure, reliable data transmission to make sure things runs smoothly.
The network is a secure Ethernet virtual private network (VPN) set up as a local area network (LAN) with separate transmission paths for data, voice and images. While two and three factor identification guarantees secure access, a firewall infrastructure protects against attacks. High network availability can reach up to 100 percent and is guaranteed to be at least 99.998 percent. An on-site T-Systems service team, which is available 24/7, provides active monitoring. Operating costs are low and transparent thanks to a port price model and firewall invoicing based on rules and connections. Flexible network expansion supports airport growth.
