44 trillion gigabytes – in numbers: 44,000,000,000,000 gigabytes. According to the "EMC Digital Universe" study global data volume will grow to this enormous number by 2020. That is ten times as much as 2014. And in Germany, the digital deluge will increase to 1,100 billion gigabytes during the same period. According to the study, the Internet of Things and the related spread of radio technology, smarter products and software-based business models will all contribute to this increase.
