2. What data is collected and how is it used?

Technical features: When you visit our websites, the web server temporarily records the domain name or IP address of your computer, the client’s file request (file name and URL), the http response code and the website from which you are visiting us.
Session cookies are cookies which are only stored on your computer for the duration of your Internet session and are required for transactions (e.g. to complete a purchase). They simply contain a transaction ID.
For certain services we use persistent cookies, which are used for monitoring and personalization of contents and are stored on your computer for future sessions. These cookies are valid up to six months.
Other personal details such as your name, address, telephone number or e-mail address will not be collected unless you provide this information voluntarily.
3. Where is my data processed?
In general, your data is processed in Germany. Data is only processed outside Germany in individual cases and in line with legal provisions.
As part of operations or for reasons related to maintenance of the systems that we use to process your personal data, it may happen that the service is performed by an international team outside the EU, based on the "follow-the-sun" principle. If this is the case, we will comply with the legal requirements applicable to cross-border transmission of data and ensure that an appropriate data protection level is maintained.

5. Will my data be passed on to third parties, e.g., public authorities?
Yes, certain data has to be passed on; this is governed by strict contractual and legal regulations:
- To external service providers for data processing:
Service providers only come into contact with our customers’ personal data within the framework of what is known as commissioned data processing. This is explicitly provided for by law (§ 11 Federal Data Protection Act, Bundesdatenschutzgesetz – BDSG). In such cases, we also remain responsible for protecting your data. The provider follows our instructions at all times when working with your data. To ensure that this is the case, we have put strict contractual regulations in place and carry out technical/organizational measures and extra checks as necessary.
- Based on legal requirements:
In certain cases, we are legally obliged to pass on data if requested to do so by a state body.
We do not pass on your data to third parties for any other purpose, unless you have given express permission for us to do so or this is permitted by law.
6. Will my usage habits be evaluated, e.g., for advertising purposes?
We or companies commissioned by us create usage profiles under pseudonyms to the extent permitted by law. These can be evaluated for advertising and market research or for designing websites in line with requirements. This information cannot be traced back to you directly. The profile data is not linked to any other information about your person. The following informs you about the processes used on our websites and how you can revoke consent at any time.
Website analysis with Webtrekk:
We use the services provided by Webtrekk GmbH
to record statistical data regarding the usage of the websites and to optimize our services accordingly. Webtrekk GmbH is TÜV-certified for data privacy in respect of web controlling software. As part of your visit to our websites, information that your browser transfers is collected and analyzed. This information is collected by means of a measurement pixel, which is incorporated on each website. A signature is used for recognition purposes. This is made up of various automatically transferred pieces of information from your computer. Webtrekk also uses the following cookies:
- Session cookie (for session identification, lifetime: one session)
- Long-term cookie (to detect new/existing customer: 6 months)
- Opt-out cookie (where users object to tracking: 60 months)
Webtrekk GmbH stores the IP address only in abbreviated (anonymized) form and only uses it for session identification, for geolocalization (down to city level) and to prevent attacks. The IP address is erased again immediately so that the recorded data is then anonymous.

7. What is conversion tracking and how is it used?
If you reached our websites via a Google ad, an affiliate ad or a Deutsche Telekom e-mail, a cookie is stored on your computer by Google AdWords or Teradata. This cookie becomes invalid after 30 days. No conclusions can be drawn about you as a person.
We use the information collected with the aid of the conversion cookie to create statistics about our conversion rate. This means that we find out how many users came to our websites via a Google ad, an affiliate ad or a Deutsche Telekom e-mail, and acquire a product within 30 days.
If you do not wish to participate in the tracking process, you can disable cookies for conversion tracking by specifying in your browser settings that cookies from the relevant domain are to be blocked:

On our websites you have the opportunity to use our online chat service free of charge and in real time. To this end, the chat service operator LivePerson Netherlands B.V.
To opt out of the online chat service, a cookie entitled “LPOptOut” is set by the domain telekom.de and t-mobile.de. The cookie is set for the aforementioned domain, for each browser and computer.
