Global Project Delivery (GPD) is the primary entry point for all project requests within the T-Systems India Global Delivery Unit. By using a standardized project management approach, the team can focus on delivering quality solutions on-time and on-budget.
The unit concentrates on three project types:
Infrastructure projects include data center consolidation, technological upgrades or transformation to new technology or the change of a vendor.
Research & Development projects focus on the development of new products mainly in the cloud environment.
In Transition & Transformation projects, GPD provides the DPS subproject manager who is responsible for the deployment of infrastructure. GPD provides support during the customer lifecycle from pre-sales via transition to handover to operations.
The unit is responsible for governance, controlling and monitoring of all projects. New projects are initiated by the Operational Project Board (OPB) which acts as a control point. The international unit is able to deliver worldwide project execution with focus on cost, time and quality.
Examples of the types of projects the unit delivers include:
Mergers, Acquisitions & Divestments
New Service Development
Technical Areas which GPD delivers include:
Joint Venture Support Model
New Remote Site Landscape
Linux/Wintel Server Builds
GPD has structured two continuous improvement teams to help ensure successful delivery. The Project Excellence Team is a global team consisting of Quality Assurance and Risk Managers. These staff are assigned to monitor project risk and deliverables, and develop mitigation plans if needed. The Operational Excellence team serves as a conduit between Project Delivery and our Production teams. Their primary focus is to ensure successful Request and Change Management, and implement continuous improvements based on lessons learned. These teams play a vital role in guaranteeing quality delivery of T-Systems' projects.
