Sven Giesselbach has been the CTO of the AI & Data Unit at T-Systems since 2025. In this role, he is responsible for the strategic development of AI and data solutions as well as the adoption of modern AI architectures, particularly in the areas of generative and agentic systems. Previously, he served as Senior Advisor for AI & Agentic Systems, supporting the development of innovative AI strategies and solutions for clients and internal initiatives.
Before joining T-Systems, he worked at the Fraunhofer Institute for Intelligent Analysis and Information Systems (IAIS), where he contributed to more than 50 AI projects.
Sven studied Computer Science (B.Sc. and M.Sc.) at the University of Bonn. During his studies, he spent a semester abroad at New York University in 2013, specializing in Natural Language Processing. He later completed his PhD in Artificial Intelligence with a dissertation titled “Data Science with Foundation Models: A Comprehensive Project Methodology.” In this work, he developed a project methodology for successfully conducting data science projects with foundation models, including tools to automate key phases of such projects. He is also co-author of the book “Foundation Models for Natural Language Understanding.”
