The practical way into T-Systems

For your first step toward practical work, we are looking for enrolled students or graduates who are aiming to do a master's course. What is important to us is that applicants are keen to learn, have their own ideas and, most of all, want to get involved. We need lateral thinkers. Are you creative and like to share ideas and information with others – possibly in English, too? Perfect! We look forward to meeting you.
Internship at a glance
  • Internships while you study: Because we believe in giving you the opportunity to apply your new know-how to real-life situations, we offer not only a wide range of vocational training options, but also mandatory and voluntary internships that take place during your course of academic study.
  • To make sure that your mandatory internship is optimally integrated in your curriculum, our mandatory internships start with four weeks and continue as long as required by your study regulations. Please contact your university for information about study regulations.
  • You can participate in a voluntary internship at any time during your course of study. The duration of these internships ranges from four weeks to a maximum of six months. During your internship you are entitled to holidays as stipulated by applicable labor laws. If you are interested in an internship that fits well with your daily study schedule, we recommend our "Flexikum" – the flexible internship.
  • We recommend our "Flexikum": As the name suggests, it promises absolute flexibility and lets you arrange your own working hours for a maximum period of 18 months. This means that you agree with your T-Systems team to work a specified number of hours over the internship as a whole. Both you and the team need to be happy with the arrangement. We are considerate of stressful exam periods and compulsory lectures. As a "Flexikum" intern, your aim is to be integrated in your team, get acquainted with your tasks and, over the long term, get involved in projects. It works like this: It might be that you familiarize yourself with your subject matter during the semester break, and then work flexible part-time hours to look after your project once the new semester starts.
Is your diary pretty full? We offer internships of 4 weeks and longer. Our voluntary internships last 6 months, while our mandatory internships can be as long as your university's study regulations provide for. Do you want some flexibility? We are the only company that offers the so-called "Flexikum". With this, your team and you elaborate their own flexible model and cater for your personal diary.
You are paid the same, whether you are doing a mandatory or voluntary internship or a "Flexikum". This is based on the duration of the internship and can be between EUR 800 and 1,480.
With us, you won't be making coffees for anyone except yourself. You are quite capable of printing and copying stuff and you don't need to come to us to learn how to do it. We prefer to put you on a project so that you can show us what you're worth. Including your own projects. And this could even develop into a topic for your thesis. We want to help you.
We take your development seriously. You get a personal supervisor for the duration of your internship. You get regular feedback.
An internship is a great opportunity to gain work experience and to start building up contacts in the professional world. Having a large network of personal contacts is helpful – not only throughout your time with the company, but after your internship, too. And you should definitely use your social networks: You can contact current and former interns via the XING community Praktikum@Telekom.
