When Brazil's third-largest packaging manufacturer decided to embark on digital transformation, it quickly became clear that SAP® S/4HANA was the ideal basis. The intelligent ERP system paves the way for expanding existing business models, controlling processes in real time, and successfully managing the ever-increasing complexity of data. Accordingly, Celulose Irani had to switch to SAP® S/4HANA to rely on a stable digital core for real-time simulations and data-supported decisions for IoT and Industry 4.0 projects.
The Brazilian company is already benefiting from higher productivity, more transparent information, and an improved decision-making basis.
T-Systems’ many years of experience and in-depth know-how in the implementation of SAP® S/4HANA convinced us. We are pleased to be working with a partner who can demonstrate global capabilities and competence in handling large, complex projects.
To switch from the old system to SAP® S/4HANA, Celulose Irani needed a reliable, experienced partner who could also successfully manage global, complex projects. The implementation was particularly complex due to the numerous modules involved. From production to purchasing, accounting, sales, controlling, import and export, a wide variety of areas had to be integrated. Six factories and two offices went live simultaneously and SAP® S/4HANA replaced the old system smoothly on the third day of operation. A precision landing that was only possible thanks to close cooperation and T-Systems' many years of experience.
The close connection to SAP, the technological know-how and the implementation competence quickly convinced the packaging manufacturer to put the transformation into T-Systems' expert hands. In the first wave of implementation, all those responsible jointly set up the project on the basis of best practices and defined the most important new positions. Whenever Celulose Irani had to make important decisions, the team was comprehensively advised by T-Systems and was thus able to move forward at an early stage. This enabled the team to go live according to plan and with the highest quality standards - without interrupting ongoing operations. With the new technological basis, Celulose Irani is now breaking new ground: Industry 4.0 and IoT projects are on the agenda. In a second wave of implementation, further modules will be integrated into SAP® S/4HANA, including asset management, maintenance, new analytics solutions and strategic planning tools.
Odivan Cargnin, CFO Celulose Irani, explains why the company opted for the introduction of S/4HANA and T-Systems as its provider.
Celulose Irani is a Brazilian pulp and paper manufacturer. The company was founded in 1941 by families from the state of Rio Grande do Sul in Brazil. Over the years, the company has established itself as the third largest packaging manufacturer in Brazil. With steady growth, the demands on the ERP system increased and the old solution could no longer compete.
