AI is fundamentally changing the economy and administration. But anyone who wants to use AI productively faces a dilemma: pressure to innovate on the one hand, and strict regulation and security requirements on the other. The Industrial AI Cloud from T-Systems solves this problem. With the SAP Business Technology Platform (SAP BTP) as the access layer, it offers a sovereign, scalable platform for AI workloads – developed and operated in Germany.

10,000 NVIDIA GPUs, SAP BTP as PaaS foundation, sovereign Germany stack: the Industrial AI Cloud combines what companies and authorities need for productive AI. Watch the video to see how we built Europe's most powerful AI infrastructure – in just six months. Made in Germany.
The Industrial AI Cloud is the world's first industrial AI cloud, developed by Deutsche Telekom and partners such as SAP and NVIDIA, and operated by T-Systems. It provides a secure, sovereign, and scalable infrastructure on which AI models can be trained, simulations carried out, and generative AI applications operated. The platform runs in T-Systems' German datacenters and meets the highest standards of data protection, security, and compliance – certified according to BSI and ISO.
SAP BTP forms the PaaS layer (Platform as a Service) of the Industrial AI Cloud. The platform enables integration, automation, and AI application development beyond the SAP standard. It serves as a data hub for AI and data analytics. By connecting to the Industrial AI Cloud, customers can use AI agents such as SAP Joule with confidence – without being dependent on US hyperscalers.
SAP BTP works without any special system requirements. Companies and public authorities can use SAP ERP, but it is not mandatory. You also don't need a HANA database – BTP works with Oracle, PostgreSQL, and SQL Server. Access is web-based via the SAP BTP Cockpit or the Command Line Interface. As a Managed Service Provider, T-Systems provides support with consulting, implementation, app development, and hosting in German datacenters.
The Germany stack is the national sovereign technology platform for digital projects in Germany. The goal is to establish an ecosystem of open innovation with integrated European and national building blocks. T-Systems is providing the physical infrastructure, while SAP is contributing the Business Technology Platform and applications – including AI technologies such as SAP Joule. All solutions are developed and operated on this stack: with guaranteed data residency in Germany and the highest security standards. It is aimed at authorities, critical infrastructures (KRITIS organizations), and companies for which digital sovereignty is not just an option, but a requirement.
The Industrial AI Cloud is aimed at companies in all sectors – from automotive, manufacturing, chemicals, and pharmaceuticals through to financial service providers. It is particularly suitable for public administration and critical infrastructure organizations (KRITIS) such as healthcare, energy suppliers, transport companies, or the security and defense sector. Wherever strict requirements for data sovereignty, compliance and security apply, the platform creates the conditions for the use of AI.
The Industrial AI Cloud and SAP BTP support the entire spectrum of artificial intelligence: LLM training and fine-tuning, simulation and digital twins, generative AI workloads, computer vision, reinforcement learning, and agentic AI. Specific applications range from simulations in the automotive industry and pharmaceutical research to the automation of official procedures and the improvement of drone applications.
T-Systems supports companies and public authorities from strategy to deployment. In the first step, we work together to determine your AI readiness: where does your organization stand in terms of data, systems, and processes? We then define and pilot the first AI scenarios – and start the necessary preparatory work such as data cleansing. We draw insights from the pilots in order to gradually scale AI applications. T-Systems offers everything from a single source: consulting, infrastructure, and end-to-end operation.
