Jörg Bienert is a co-founder of the Federal Association for Artificial Intelligence (Bundesverband Künstliche Intelligenz e.V.) and Managing Director of the Center for Sovereign AI (LEAM GmbH). He currently also leads the SOOFI project, in which a consortium of leading research institutions is training a family of sovereign foundation models. After studying computer engineering and holding several positions in the IT industry, he founded multiple companies. ParStream, a big data start-up headquartered in Silicon Valley, was acquired by Cisco in 2015.
