Having been a passionate sailor all his life, Uwe Birkenhauer began his professional career as an officer on a submarine in the German Navy. After leaving the service in 1995, he held various positions as project manager, consultant, and business unit leader with different European and international companies in Enterprise Resource Planning and Enterprise Content Management. He joined T-Systems in 2010 as Service Delivery Manager and took over the responsibility of the SAP Global Competence Center in 2014, which evolved over time into today’s SAP Portfolio Management Chapter. His team defines the offerings and services around SAP in Digital Solutions and Cloud Services, that T-Systems provides to external customers. This includes the evolution of new topics such as sustainability solutions and the “verticalization” of the SAP Portfolio to address the specific needs of T-Systems’ focus industries. Uwe lives in Bonn near the Telekom Headquarters and has three grown-up children.
