T-Systems continues its sustainable course: Two data centers in Magdeburg have recently been accepted as official members of the European Code of Conduct (EU CoC) for energy efficiency in data centers. The certification process began in June 2023 and has now ended with the official listing of the T-Systems Magdeburg Modul and the T-Systems Magdeburg PG data centers as participants.
This recognition followed a thorough external audit by a specialized European team. It emphasizes T-Systems’ commitment to sustainable and energy-efficient methodology in the data center sector.
The EU CoC aims to encourage data center owners and operators to adopt best practices to effectively reduce energy consumption without compromising essential operational functions.
In 2023, the Biere data center was one of the winners of the EU CoC award. T-Systems’ participation in the EU CoC helps them comply with the EU Taxonomy, a regulation program for sustainable business activities.
The European Data Center Code of Conduct (EU DC CoC) is a voluntary initiative launched by the Joint Research Centre in response to increasing energy consumption in data centers and the resulting environmental, economic and energy security impacts. It provides guidance to data center operators and owners on how to cost-effectively reduce energy consumption without compromising the operationally essential functions of these facilities. Participation in the Code of Conduct is a voluntary initiative. T-Systems has been committed to following the Code of Conduct since 2012.
