UK government online catalogue of digital and cloud-based services
The growth and development of cloud computing in the technology sector has resulted in a sweeping change in the way businesses operate and approach their information technology (IT) requirements. The UK Government has identified an opportunity, through the adoption of cloud computing, to deliver increased sustainability, flexibility and greater economic control.
G-Cloud is a series of iterative Framework Agreements designed to provide Government departments, partners and local authorities with access to cloud computing services and help in achieving the Government’s ambition of delivering a fundamental change in the way the public sector procures and operates their IT environments.
T-Systems is a supplier with the Crown Commercial Service (CCS) and has published a number of services on the Digital Marketplace, where public sector buyers can browse an online catalogue for the services that they require. T-Systems has published a large number of its cloud solutions on the G-Cloud Framework Agreement, these cover the four key areas of Infrastructure-as-a-Service (IaaS), Platform-as-a-Service (PaaS), Software-as-a-Service (SaaS), and Specialist Cloud Services. There are also a wide range of T-Systems capabilities and services published under the Digital Outcomes & Specialists Framework Agreement.
Both the G-Cloud and Digital Outcomes & Specialists Framework Agreements support the Government’s policy to centrally manage the procurement of common goods and services through an integrated commercial function at the heart of government. These services can be used by organisations across the UK public sector including central government, local government, health, education, devolved administrations, emergency services, defence and not-for-profit organisations.
