Since the beginning of March at the latest, the priorities in our lives have changed dramatically – in companies, who have to protect their employees and master economic challenges, and in the personal lives of each individual: since March 10, my wife and I have been working from home, like many other employees. An additional challenge is presented by the shared homeschooling of our children and the restructuring of everyday family life.
The threat of the coronavirus has led to noticeable new forms of solidarity: people are contributing their creative ideas and talents to society in order to face the challenges of the pandemic together. Neighborhood help has reached gratifying new dimensions, whether it be shopping, walking the dog, volunteering as harvest workers, or medical students working in hospitals...
I have observed that companies also have the desire to help society tackle all future challenges, coupled with a newly awakened inventive spirit. In my opinion, there are many examples worth mentioning:
These examples clearly show the potential of companies: "Necessity is the mother of invention." In my role at T-Systems, I too am aware of the current increased demands on our company: we operate critical infrastructures for our customers in the public and medical sectors and, of course, for our customers in the automotive industry. We are meeting the increased demand for digital resources for working from home, video conferencing, and online tutorials. In addition, we are supporting our customers in continuing with key business-critical projects and helping to restart production and sales. Hopefully the crisis will be over soon... but you can count on T-Systems as your long-term digitalization partner.
