Digital workspace: Telekom is top

Telekom named a “Leader” eleven times in a comparison of providers: ISG has rewarded Telekom for its digital workspace services & solutions.
Telekom is positioned among the top providers in a new comparison conducted by the Information Services Group, the ISG Provider Lens Germany 2017 Digital workspaces, mobile strategy consulting services or workplace IT from the cloud: The analysts see Telekom as a “Leader” in eleven market categories. Two criteria for the good rating are the transparent price model and a consulting service that covers all technological aspects, according to ISG’s market analysts. 

Leading provider for companies of all sizes

The results show: With its offering, Telekom is positioned as the Leader with the highest rating in terms of competitive strength” for large customers when it comes to digital workspace services. ISG defines them as all services relating to the digital workplace: Whether a workspace strategy has to be defined, solutions and operating services chosen or business processes optimized – Telekom emerged overall as the highest-rated provider for large customers, according to ISG’s analysts. Telekom always has the right consulting services and technologies on board for small and medium-sized companies, as well.

Top consulting for mobile strategies

In the categories “Mobile Strategy Consulting” and “Mobilization of Business and Processes”, Telekom comes out top with, among other things, its strategic consulting approach: Telekom offers optimized consulting services and leaves nothing to be desired as regards technologies or guidelines – whether BYOD (bring your own device) or COPE (corporate-owned, personally enabled). The Magenta team also unites expertise in mobile communications and enterprise mobility – a fact that enables it to score well with large customers as a provider. The group impresses with its own strategic approach as a Leader in the field of mobile enterprise consulting – and has done so for years, as ISG emphasizes.
Telekom ranks first among all providers for operating and delivering of managed digital workspace services: service desk, hardware and software maintenance, user management, troubleshooting, change management and transition management. Telekom impresses ISG’s analysts “as one of the largest established providers” and with its “powerful vision for the cloud-capable workplace” in this category. Telekom offers a “rounded portfolio” for small and medium-sized enterprises.

Workplace from the cloud

ISG sees Telekom well ahead of the competition in the category “Cloud Workplaces.” Its standardized, preconfigured workplaces from the cloud enable parallel operation of cloud and conventional workplaces. The analysts were impressed by the modular offering, including unified communications and “end-to-end responsibility with its own network and data center operation in Germany.” The analysts attest that Telekom “has great experience here, especially in large projects.”    

Social business transformation consulting

ISG numbers “strategic consulting for companies on using social business software or entire suites” among the range of consulting on social business & collaboration offered by T-Systems and T-Systems Multimedia Solutions and adds that using social business software components requires organizational skills, know-how and empathy. According to ISG, social business software/services are often cloud-based and demand technically clean and secure integration in an organization’s own resources – T-Systems sets standards here, also thanks to its own digitization efforts.

First comparison of digital workspace providers

The technology consulting firm ISG has mapped the portfolio attractiveness and competitive strength of the providers on an axis system with four quadrants: Offerings from up to 20 providers in 15 market categories were included in the assessment. ISG then determined the position of the providers as a Product Challenger, Market Challenger, Follower or Leader in the coordinate system – for each market category and also in relation to large or medium-sized customers.
ISG, which was formerly the Experton Group, conducts comparisons of providers with the focus on a specific topic. The technology consultants survey providers, and assess their references, products, solutions and services. The results help companies sound out the market and identify providers. The comparison of competitors in the digital workspace area was the first of its kind in Germany.
