The 7th Aviation Forum with more than 700 participants was taking place on November 7th and 8th in Hamburg. T-Systems presented use cases involving relevant digital trends and innovations for the aviation industry and says thank you for the good discussions and interaction.
At this two-day professional exhibition on the Hamburg trade fair grounds, top decision-makers and executives from the aviation industry had the opportunity to speak with leading vendors about the latest developments and challenges in the areas of digitization and manufacturing. As an IT partner of the Aviation Forum, T-Systems presented solutions for the Internet of Things
, such as digitized logistics
, and took part in various workshops and the use case session on the subject of "Track & Trace and Condition Monitoring", based on the digital food chain (hall A3, booth G1).
Digital food chain: Optimize workflows with digitization
A lack of transparency in transportation logistics results in high losses, particularly when it comes to demanding tasks such as food delivery. Insufficient documentation of origins, transportation routes and shipping conditions are significant obstacles to a smooth food supply chain
. With digitization
, transportation processes are rendered transparent, enabling efficient coordination of logistics workflows. What's more, monitoring the shipping conditions adds true value, creating seamless, end-to-end documentation of the supply chain.
Based on the "digital food chain", Rino Ariganello (VP Global Account Airbus Group, T-Systems International GmbH) and Mario Stockhausen (Chief Creative Director, Rieber GmbH & CO. KG) presented the application scenario "Track & Trace and Condition Monitoring" and demonstrated how T-Systems can optimize the workflows in food logistics for its customers through digitization. Rieber, based in Reutlingen, is a leading vendor of comprehensive catering solutions. Its digitized containers developed for food shipping ensure gap-free monitoring of food hygiene and quality, as well as compliance with all legal regulations. The company won the Digital Champion Award 2016 for this solution (also see best practice article
Use case: Track & trace and condition monitoring
Digitization makes it possible to monitor the quality of goods during shipping, from packaging to product state. Mobile track & trace technology enables customers to track their shipments in real time, while the condition monitoring technology monitors the state of the shipped goods based on sensor readings, creating optimal conditions based on the retrieved data.
Discussion in workshops
In addition to presenting the use cases, T-Systems played an active role in a number of other workshops. Torsten Chudobba, who has worked closely with the Airbus Group for more than nine years, will present the topic "Digitization & Innovation". During the two days, T-Systems experts were available at the booth to answer trade visitor questions about topics such as IoT (Internet of Things), smart monitoring, smart logistics and augmented reality – and also the surprise guest at the booth booth – the robot Pepper – says thank you for your visit to all visitors of the T-Systems booth.
