After studying industrial engineering, Oliver Bahns began his professional career in 1995 as a research assistant at Fraunhofer Gesellschaft. In 1998, he moved to debis Systemhaus, the IT division of the Daimler Group at the time, and worked in consulting. Until 2008, Bahns was Head of Consulting and Business Development in the Automotive industry line at T-Systems, Deutsche Telekom's corporate customer division.
From 2008 Oliver Bahns worked as Global Director Automotive and Aerospace at Hewlett Packard, where he was responsible for industrial strategy and business development activities worldwide in the areas of hardware, software, and service. Most recently, he assumed operational responsibility for the Automotive Enterprise Service business in Central Europe.
Since January 2016, Oliver Bahns has been Head of the Connected Mobility business unit within T-Systems' Digital Solutions division, which has group-wide responsibility for the topics of connected vehicles, transport and logistics, and intermodal mobility.
Bahns spent several years of his career in South Korea, Indonesia, China, and the USA. He currently lives near Stuttgart with his wife and two daughters.
