ContiTech: Greater efficiency and customer focus with T-Systems and Salesforce
Conveyor belts from ContiTech are found in many sectors, for example agriculture or mining. However, conveyor belts these days are a highly technological product which must meet stringent and individual requirements regarding handling capacity and functionality. Intensive and close customer care is very important for ContiTech too.
At ContiTech, focusing on the needs of customers is very much part of the company's philosophy. The CRM system is therefore very important. But after purchasing Veyance Technologies Inc., a well-known American manufacturer of industrial hoses and conveyor belts, two different CRM systems were suddenly in use at ContiTech – one too many. After an in-depth evaluation of both systems, ContiTech opted for Salesforce operated in T-Systems’ highly-secure data center in Germany, with both the Sales Cloud and Service Cloud in use.
ContiTech with new 360-degree view of customers
The first step involved ContiTech migrating Veyance’s Salesforce platform from the USA to T-Systems in Germany. This was achieved successfully in just 40 days, after which both users and processes were then connected. 800 sales employees worldwide can now access consistent, standardized and centrally stored customer data on the strategic platform – everywhere and at all times from any end device. The user-friendly platform makes sales work easier, quicker and above all more efficient – both for internal and external processes. Customer enquiries result in a quotation sooner and a quotation becomes an order even more quickly. This order can then be carried out immediately thanks to SAP integration. Salesforce and T-Systems are therefore contributing to conveyor technology company ContiTech’s global success.
