With Dynamic Workplace, the digital workplace solution by T-Systems, companies get modern workplace IT from the cloud – securely, flexibly and efficiently – including mobile devices. Every kind of application can be integrated, making the offering suitable for any company. The central provisioning of data and software means that all workplaces are always up-to-date. All digital workplaces are served from a secure T-Systems data center. Two-factor authentication protects access to the workplace. Companies define individual policies to determine which applications and data a user can deploy, depending on the device and network access used. Easy to use
Employees only need to log in to the system once to access all the services (single sign-on). IT departments face a number of challenges that can be solved by digital workplace solutions and Workplace-as-a-Service. Modern employees want to do more and more mobile work, some by necessity. To do so, they no longer just use a PC, but also mobile devices such as smartphones and tablet PCs. They even want to capture the benefits of new workplace trends such as home office and BYOD (“bring your own device”). At the same time, companies must become more agile, setting up complete IT workplace systems for new employees and switching off unneeded ones quickly. The specialist departments require new software at short notice to perform ever-changing tasks. Security is a top priority for Dynamic Workplace
Dynamic Workplace has successfully passed all three multi-stage, internal security testing processes. For example: ESARIS (Enterprise Security Architecture for Reliable ICT Services) from T-Systems. That means DWP meets the high demands for security and quality end-to-end from a service perspective. DWP also passed the PSA (Privacy & Security Assessment) by Telekom IT for security and data privacy requirements. During penetration tests, specially trained T-Systems employees from the security division attempt to hack the platform. These attempts are carried out independently, unscheduled and anonymously.
Standardize and cut costs
An optimal combination of public cloud and private cloud services in a hybrid cloud approach supports such end-to-end workplace strategies. The same applies to proprietary software (legacy applications) and standard applications such as Outlook, SAP and collaboration solutions such as SharePoint. Once the concept has been implemented, costs fall automatically in areas like service desk, server management, rollout and client hardware – although fat clients such as desktop PCs can still be used for certain employees. Inexpensive thin clients are sufficient to access the user interface and thus the applications and data.
