"Digitalization meets Globalization"
Digital transformation against the backdrop of globalization: Digitalization poses doubly tough challenges to international companies compared to those at national level. That’s why DSAG, the association for SAP users in Germany, Austria and Switzerland, has made the issue of “Digitalization meets Globalization” its slogan for the 8th DSAG Globalization Symposium, which is to be held in Dresden, Germany from May 17 through 18.
The Internet of Things, and global, digital governance...
The Internet of Things
(IoT) is changing the way market players work together, posing challenges that are shaking sectors to their core, and forcing companies to evaluate new business models – all much sooner than anticipated. That will have a lasting impact on existing application and system landscapes. In times of agility, global and digital governance is a must. Methodologies, concepts and practical approaches relating to transformation
will be presented and discussed in the various talks and workshops.
The challenges of globalization for multinational system landscapes
One major challenge in the coming years will be migration of a global SAP system landscape to S/4HANA. The starting position for companies, and especially the current system landscape, has significant effects on the potential transition scenario and the roadmap. A global system with one client and inter-company processes raises different questions than a multi-system landscape. Inspired by the customer experiences that are presented, the event will offer the chance to share information that also takes into account the different starting points at companies.
Fundamental considerations in the implementation of global or multinational systems
Whether SAP ERP, S/4HANA, or on-premise or cloud
products – the global rollout of systems requires specific measures from the outset to prevent errors in projects and increase efficiency. The other topics include maintenance and updating of systems with various services, tools or information that optimize planning or adaptation of the relevant system architecture or support country-specific aspects.
